Project TA-4J 2016

The Skyhawk project came about when one of S.L. U.S.N. Third Fleet squadrons was having difficulties with the front line F-18 Hornets, Being virtually impossible to replace by a new F/A-18E/F package, a decision was made to bring to life an old glory of the Navy back to front line service: the Douglas TA-4J Skyhawk, powered and sold in SL by Shana Aircraft.

The liveries I chose for the project are made for the squadron in question, VF-154 Black Knights, and they are based on a high visibility U.S.S. Carl Vinson color scheme in blue with a darker tone tail. The decision to add the pilot's call sign to the jet intakes was taken for moral boosting purposes at a time when the squadron was recovering from the mothballing of the Hornets.
